Bug Description

I have tried different possible solutions found in internet, yet some don't work at all, some work for once but after rebooting iSight stops working again. The machine is a MacBookPro 5,3 on dual boot. OSX version is 10.6.7. iSight used to work with previous Ubuntu/OSX versions

Did you extract the isight.fw file in /lib/firmware using ift-extract ?

I did.
The thing is, sometimes the camera is recognized. But most often it is
not. I'm not sure that whenever it is recognized the firmware is loaded
by ift-load, in fact, I think (from syslog) that when it works ift-load
was not called.

Best,
