Bug Description

It would be rad to build a user mode linux package from the standard kernel
sources (particularly once we get the next version of skas and stuff like that
going)

We are looking at xen rather than uml.

We will see what to ship later on. User requirements are very different, but
yes, right now i am looking into xen that appears to be better implementation.

This bug has been flagged because it is old and possibly inactive. It may or may
not be fixed in the latest release (Breezy Badger 5.10). It is being marked as
"NEEDSINFO". In two weeks time, if the bug is not updated back to "NEW" and
validated against Breezy, it will be closed.

This is needed in order to help manage the current bug list for the kernel. We
would like to fix all bugs, but need users to test and help with debugging.

If this change was in error for this bug, please respond and make the
appropriate change (or email <email address hidden> if you cannot make the
change).

Thanks for your help.

Let's not forget about the OpenVZ that's out now too :)

It actually looks pretty nice aswell, and also offers useful management features
for non-virtual systems. Doesn't support booting other non-Linux though.
Basically it will partition a new system (mem, cpu, fs limits). So it runs the
same kernel as you booted with.

Looks like we are probably going to go with Xen.

However, post-dapper, please feel free to create a spec on launchpad.net to
propose uml.
