Bug Description

I just installed Visual C# Express 2010 and I'm trying to open the solution file. The error it gives me is...
"Solution folders are not supported in this version of this application."
and
"One of more projects in the solution were not loaded correctly. Please see the Output Window for details."

The Output Window says...
"C:\Users\Pratul Kalia\Code\ircdotnet\src\IrcDotNet.Tests\IrcDotNet.Tests.csproj : error : The project file 'C:\Users\Pratul Kalia\Code\ircdotnet\src\IrcDotNet.Tests\IrcDotNet.Tests.csproj' cannot be opened.
The project type is not supported by this installation.

C:\Users\Pratul Kalia\Code\ircdotnet\src\IrcDotNet\IrcDotNet-Silverlight.csproj : error : The project file 'C:\Users\Pratul Kalia\Code\ircdotnet\src\IrcDotNet\IrcDotNet-Silverlight.csproj' cannot be opened.
The project type is not supported by this installation."

Okay, so as per http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/Vsexpressvc/thread/2a8e62c8-e14f-4027-8704-7d943c99303e, Express editions do not support solution folders.

Sigh. :/

Hm, so after all the errors and everything, the project still builds cleanly and generates the DLL.
I guess if this can be fixed somehow, it should be. Otherwise, perhaps the README should note this point?

Right. Well it's good to know it still builds at least using the Express edition of VS 2010. A notice in the README file might be the most appropriate solution, indeed.

Changed in ircdotnet:

assignee: nobody → Alex Regueiro (alexreg)
status: New → Confirmed
