Bug Description

Brian, heads-up: I had to rather savagely disable two sets of twisted kernel tests:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~fdo.perez/ipython/trunk-dev/revision/1276

The good news is that now, our test suite passes completely!!! But I don't know this part of the code well enough to fix it now, I'm afraid.

Otherwise we're in great shape, all tests pass on Linux. We'll have to see on other oses...
