Bug Description
When using IPython and a call to import matplotlib.pyplot is made a calender widget appears on the screen.
Afther the calender window is closed Iphyton continues to run but with a slow keyboard (Keys pressed take a long time to appear on screen).
This is with the windows binary installation 0.9.1 and re-installation does not solve the problem.
The problem does not appear with the 0.8.4 version of the installer.

This is super odd. Have you taken this up with the matplotlib foiks? I recommend that. There are lots of underlying things related to matplotlib versions and backends that could be going on here.
