This is really a missing feature. By example, this should be used in gnome-control-center keyboard and mouse capplets to differentiate strings in slider ends (Short - Long, Slow - Fast, etc.).

The patch posted in that bug has one major significant problem of expecting gtkbuilder files to have the .ui extension, while bonoboui files already have the .ui extension in use. Something needs to be done about that situation before this can really go anywhere.

AFAICS, the patch does not make any assumption about the way gtkbuilder type is detected. It only adds a new gtkbuilder type. We should be able to force the type with [type: gettext/gtkbuilder] in The automatic type detection is another issue (bug #381347).

Ok, for now I think it'd be good if we just extend glade format support to support context flag, especially since that's what people are using for GtkBuilder files. How do we auto-detect them is, as Claude notes, a different problem.

I think it'd be nice to add more tests for Glade/GtkBuilder formats which include Unicode chars as well.
