Bug Description
The current fields for entering sizes allow for 4 decimals after the decimal separator and 6 decimals before. However the dimensions which can be chosen vary from (largest) meters to (smallest) point. One point is 0.003527 m. This illustrates that the available amount of significant decimals is too limited.
Either allow for more decimals before and after the separator or make the amount of available decimals before and after depending on the dimension that has been chosen.
By fixing this bug, end user will not be limited for example in large works (in meters) that requires small dimensions (such as points).

1) Which Inkscape version do you refer to (see Inkscape menu 'Help > About Inkscape'), on which OS/platform?
2) Please clarify which "sizes" you refer to - there are many places in Inkscape's GUI where "sizes" in various units can be entered.
