parts of image omitted when converting SVG to PNG

When I convert a file from SVG to PNG in Inkscape 0.48.2, parts of the image are sometimes omitted in the PNG. I had someone who is running Inkscape 0.47 try it and the PNG came out fine for him. Any suggestions?

1) Please provide information about your OS/platform.
2) Did you use 'File > Export Bitmap…' (recommended), or saved as 'Cairo PNG' (does not support filter effects)?
3) As Alvin already asked, example files (original SVG as well as your exported bitmap (PNG) file) are needed to allow to further investigate the reported issue.

1) I tried it using Inkscape 0.48.1 on Ubuntu and Inkscape 0.48.2 on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion. The error appeared in both cases.

2) I used 'File > Export Bitmap...' in all of these cases. I noticed that the omitted portions of the image don't come out right in the PNG only when I select the "page" tab in the "Export Bitmap" screen. When I select the "drawing" tab instead, the exported bitmap has a different size but the image looks correct. I think that my colleague who tried it with Inkscape 0.47 may have had the "drawing" tab selected too, so this may not be a bug in only the 0.48 versions after all.

3) The attached .SVG exhibits the bug when you try to export it as a bitmap. To see the bug, make sure you select "page" rather than "drawing" when you export it. The lower light gray dotted line will have a missing portion in the exported bitmap.
