Bug Description
The textbox can be resized (as textbox, not as object or as a draw) just by the right-bottom corner point, resizing vertically and horizontally at the same time.
It would be very very good to be able to resize the textbox just horizontally or just vertically.

Partially reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.2 and 0.48+devel r10741 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 (i386):
The frame of flowed text initially only displays a special node in the lower right corner. After resizing the frame once (e.g. increase the frame size to the right and/or bottom), both control handles of the rectangle frame are visible and allow to resize it by dragging the top left corner or the bottom right corner.
The alternative method works always:
1) select the flowed text object with the select tool
2) use the keyboard shortcut 'Shift+D' to look up the linked frame
3) switch to the rectangle tool to edit the selected frame
