inkscape crashes at the start sometimes

mac mini 1.83 GHz with OS X 10.5.8 - Inkscape 0.48.1 - inkscape worked very well for many months. From september I have problems at the start. A window appears (see the attachement) and Inkscape don't start and I can't close the software. I must close X11 because Inkscape does not respond. At times it starts and works perfectly.

Linking as duplicate to
Bug #623640 “inkscape 0.48 crashes on startup in colorprofile_get_system_profile_handle()”

As a workaround, consider changing the settings for
 Inkscape preferences > Color management > Display adjustment
to
 [x] Retrieve profile from display

You can do this by either temporarily installing Inkscape 0.47 (into any folder - you don't have to uninstall 0.48.1 for this), and changing the setting in Inkscape 0.47, or whenever 0.48.1 happens to launch without crash.

As mentioned in the comments of bug #623640, some users have noticed a relation between other apps (Safari, Preview) running at the time and this type of crash in inkscape (comment 20).
