Two consecutive clipboard imports get same temporary xlink:href file

When I import an image from PowerPoint via the clipboard, a new svg:image is created with an external xlink:href reference (file:///C:/Users/sstrahl/AppData/Local/Temp/inkscape-clipboard-import). The next image I import via the clipboard get the same external reference and thereby the first pasted image is replaced by the last one, which is also visible on the screen after a repaint of the window. I used Inkscape 0.48.2 r9819 and Windows 7.

Reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape trunk revision. Particularly annoying since Inkscape doesn't automatically embed the pasted images (see Bug #847374 "trunk no longer always embeds when pasting bitmap from clipboard ").

I can reproduce and confirm this bug.
Copy/Pasting multiple snippets from Gimp to inkscape via clipboard produces same image shown (which is the last snippet pasted).

Fixed in the trunk, revision 11097.
Importing from the clipboard now force embedding.

Reopening - reproducible with 0.91+devel r13863 as well as with 0.91pre4 r13712

Based on tests with archived builds on OS X 10.7.5, it seems that the changes in rev 12823 partially undid the earlier fix:
