Bug Description
As of Inkscape 0.48.1, when editing node handles and snapping is enabled, the handles do not snap when using the Ctrl or Alt modifiers to adjust a node. I had a case tonight where I wanted two node handles to be vertical and equal length to each other, but discovered that they did not snap to a horizontal guide I set up to enforce this.
I understand that snapping may not be possible in certain conditions, e.g., using Ctrl+Alt in combination. But snapping with the Ctrl or Alt modifier by itself should not be much of an issue.

Reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.1 and 0.48.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 (i386)
In current trunk (Inkscape 0.48+devel r10585), the node handle snaps (extends or shortens) to a guide while dragging with 'Ctrl' pressed (not with 'Alt' - preserve length - though).
Attaching the test file used to compare the different versions.
