Bug Description
It would be a major improvement if we had a tool to draws a dimension line between two selected points with the length specification, including scale (similar to path). It should be possible to move the dimension line freely.

I'll give a shot a translation from German to English: "Andreas would love to see a dimensioning tool, similar to mechanical 2D CAD software."
We have an extension already that draws the dimensioning lines (Extensions -> Visualize Path -> Dimensions), but that one is not interactive and does not provide the measurement itself.
