Bug Description
My computer that is running on Ubuntu 11.04 froze while I was working on Inkscape. I had to restart my laptop and when I reopened my SVG file I had created, everything was lost! It would be a good idea to add a recovery mode like in Open/Libre Office to restore our files at the opening of the Inkscape program when something went wrong. Thank you very much for your help! :)

a) Please use 'Autosave' to minimize losses when your computer crashes: a system crash doesn't allow to create an emergency save file in Inkscape (unlike when Inkscape itself crashes). Autosave in Inkscape exists since version 0.47: wiki.inkscape. org/wiki/ index.php/ Release_ notes/0. 47#Autosave>

b) The request to automatically recover the last version from 'Autosave' after a system crash, as well as adding an interface to recover emergency saved files (after Inkscape had crashed) have been filed already and are tracked here:
Recover from auto-saved files:
Bug #171424 “crash recovery”
Bug #492606 “Automatic Autosave Recovery” (duplicate)
Recover from emergency-saved files:
Bug #513185 “Check for emergency saved files on startup”
Proposing to link as duplicate to Bug #171424 - unless I misunderstood your feature request, you want to recover a recent auto-saved version after a system crash, not after an Inkscape crash.
