Bug Description
The problems people are having with the WACOM tablet are due to the Gnu Tool Kit and have been around for at least 5 or 6 years. I submitted a bug to Bugzilla when I discovered problems with GIMP. When using the tablet in the mouse mode the cursor and the actual point that an action occurs are offset. In the Pen mode the tablet functions normally.
As I said, the problem in in the GTK and not the application (I have discovered that any application the uses the GTK will have problems with WACOM tablets. A few are GIMP, Calibre and Inkscape.
The bug has been batted around in the GNU community for at least 5 years that I know of. A check of the Bugzilla site will confirm this. As far as I know nothing appears to be being done about it since I haven't received any notifications from Bugzilla in several months.
There was a lot of activity about 4 years ago but a solution was never found. I find it difficult to believe the the rest of the graphics programs seem to be able to function as expected but the GTK folks can't or won't solve the problem.
I have two WACOM tablets Intous3 and Bamboo and they both have the problem. Anything that can be done to get the GTK folks to fix their software would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
David
