Bug Description

[From bug 747698, quoting JazzyNico]

With all the new parameters in Scour (compared to those in Inkscape 0.48), the extension dialog is very high and just fits on my 1280x1024 screen. I think laptop (and netbooks) users can't even see the apply button at the bottom. The only solution I see for now is splitting the option et help tabs each in two. I suggest that we keep the most basic options in the first tabs and the advanced ones in the second. What do you think?

[Inferred information from bug 747698]
Scour version >= trunk revision 209
Inkscape version > 0.48

Now, I have no idea how to go about fixing this myself, but it's a separate issue important enough to merit its own bug, IMO. Usability is improved if catering for all resolutions.

I added Affects: Scour since the Inkscape extension UI file is defined there. I'll take any patch you give us for the UI file and apply it to Scour. Or maybe someone else in the Scour project has a clue about editing the UI file? :)

Attached is a modified INX file that should release enough space for low resolution screens. It also fixes a small parameter type bug (id lists coded as bools instead of strings)
The help section is still a bit crowded, but I see no efficient solution except implementing a real help system in Inkscape.

New patch version. The "<?xml?>" string causes errors when building translations in Inkscape. Replaced with "xml".

The second scour.inx in this bug thread is now in Scour trunk, revision 211.

Not fixed in latest Inkscape trunk — there is no space for me to see the bottom on my laptop. See bug #1331523.

Apparently we need a third help tab to reduce the dialog's height. Or implement scrollable extension dialogs...

Just an unsuccessful attempt to implement a scrollable dialog. The default ScrollWindow is too small, and I can't find a way to use the minimum size needed by the options or the maximum available size. Apparently there's no easy way to do it.
If a GTK expert could give a hint...

I'm in the process of redesigning the Scour export dialog. Feel free to give feedback on the current draft (see screenshots in bug #1411149)

I haven't compared with the current dialogs yet, but your version looks very good.
