Bug Description

Hi !

I noticed, under Inkscape 0.48 and the current bzr version, in the about -> memory management built-in utility, that the memory consumption was raising by itself, at the rate of about 0.5KB / second. It even occurs when starting a new empty document and waiting without even moving the window...

The OSX / Windows builds don't have this piece of information, I noticed this under Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64.

Cheers !

Monitored with the system monitor. No change (not even a byte) after an hour.

Monitored with system utility 'Activity Monitor.app' because Inkscape's 'About memory' dialog only shows current values for 'libgc'.

Hmm... I may be mistaken because of the constant fluctuations of the built-in "about memory" dialog. the "standard malloc()" value does increase, but then seems to decrease again in a cyclic way...

Unless one moves the mouse pointer over the canva / toolbars / palette, which definitely increases the memory usage infinitely. (but slowly)

Thanks for your comments !
