Feature Request: Copy/Cut a Part of a Grouped Object

Bug Description
Lets assume a very big drawing, which is grouped. Ungrouping
takes a lot of time; also zooming and moving with a big amount
of ungrouped paths (even on a double core).
Often only a part of this grouped object needs to be copied or
cut out.
Feature would be nice:
- draw a path over the grouped object
- mark this path and the grouped object
- select the operation "cut out", "copy/isolate"
- the path disappears
- instead a new object appears, which only
contains the marked part of the grouped object
I know that INKSCAPE supports clipping, but the disadvantage
is that the invisible part is still there (hidden).
Working with such a clipped part has also high impact
on the CPU. Furthermore: if parts of this clipped object
should be modified, it need to be ungrouped. And this
operation takes as long as ungrouping the original,
big drawing -- and suddenly the clipped hidden part
is visible again.
Thanks!
And by the way: INKSCAPE is really a great tool!
Regards,
Nico.

Why not use the existing methods of selection?
a) enter the group and select those paths you need
Ctrl+<Enter>, select objects, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+<backspace>, Ctrl+V
b) select objects within (nested) groups
Ctrl+click, Shift+Ctrl+click to add to selection, Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V
> if parts of this clipped object should be modified,
> it need to be ungrouped.
No, just enter the clipped group (double-click or Ctrl+<enter>) and edit the the object(s) - no need to ungroup or release the clip.
