Text-to-path rotation results in strange behavior

Bug Description

Inkscape 0.48
Windows 7 Home x64

When a text object and a circle are selected, and "put on path" is selected from the text menu, the text adheres to the circle as expected. However, if I select both and try to rotate, the text rotates incorrectly and ducks behind the circle at a strange angle. After the mouse is released, the text snaps back to the circle, but hasn't rotated as far as it appeared to.

A screenshot is attached.

Can't reproduce this with Inkscape 0.48.0 and 0.48+devel r9944 on OS X 10.5.8. Please attach a sample SVG file where the transformation of a selection containing both an ellipse and the text put-on-path will be incorrect after releasing the mouse.

attached is a sample with some text on path. If I select both objects and toggle the handles so I can rotate and then grab the corner with the mouse and rotate it, then the text rotates twice as fast as the ellipse, during the dragging process. After releasing the mouse, then the text reverts back to an angle that is consistent with the ellipse angle, so it is once again properly aligned with the ellipse.

I don't think it has anything to do with the file itself, because this problem has happened consistently whenever I try to put text on an elipse, even in new files. Alvin Penner's description is exactly how it happens.
