Unfortunately, I have been unable to reproduce this with inkscape_0.48.0-1ubuntu2 on Ubuntu Natty. Can anyone suggest how to help the submitter debug this problem?

The submitter has discovered that the fault lies with a wrapper script on his machine - not with inkscape itself. Marking this as invalid.
