Color Gestures tool sometimes crashes Inkscape 0.48

Inkscape sometimes crashes while I am using the Color Gestures tool. I was able to capture the behavior in a short video. You can view it at the following URL.

I start by placing the cursor over the Fill indicator at the bottom left. I then press and hold the left mouse button while dragging the cursor to change the color hue. I then press the ctrl key to change the lightness while still moving the cursor. I then release the ctrl key and press the shift key to the change the saturation. The status area at the bottom displays when the hue, lightness, and saturation are being changed.

Sometimes it crashes right away and sometimes I need to work at it to get it to crash. Sometimes I get the error message, as shown in the video, and sometimes Inkscape just disappears.

I am using Windows XP and Inkscape 0.48
