@doc81: On my system (Kubuntu 10.10) there was no "gtk-fallback-icon-theme"-line.
After adding 'gtk-fallback-icon-theme="oxygen"' as first line to '/usr/share/themes/QtCurve/gtk-2.0/gtkrc', inkscape works again! :-)
