A key point is that there is a big difference between "deprecating" and "dropping". Dropping is much more severe and does raise the priority of this item. On the other hand Microsoft just gave in and stopped trying to push Silverlight for the desktop and is going with HTML5 + SVG now. Adobe might follow suit, but we're not sure of the timeframe for that.
