scale gradients in relation to object (in edit mode)

Most important for changing a text.
The gradient should grow or shrink with the width of the text.

Thanks for your report and sorry for the late reaction.
This seems to work correctly for both Inkscape 0.48.4 and trunk r12334 on vista 64 bit.
Dou you still have this issue and if so could you provide details on the platform on which the error occurs? Could you provide details on how to invoke this issue?

Thank you for taking the time to look into this.

More precisely the problem is:
When you create a text object, add a gradient to it and then edit the text; the gradient's start- and endpoints will stay where they are.

The same principle applies to non-text-objects:
Create an object (e.g. a rectangle), go into edit mode and move control-points/nodes around and you will see the gradient doesn't resize to the new width/height.

This still happens to me on Gentoo 64 bit with Inkscape 0.48.4 r9939.

I guess for regular objects this wouldn't necessarily qualify as bug, but at least for text objects it would seem reasonable the let the gradient grow with the text.
