Bug Description

i am using windows 7 professional 64 bit 24 GB ram nvidia quadro card intell i7 chip
sometimes while i draw (often even small drawings) a blank window pops up and inkscape crashes for seemingly no reason
its verry annoying i save lots to avoid damage but sometimes it gets by me and i have to restart my drawings i am using inkscape 0.47 it appears the bugs occurs randomly when you do stuff like drag points of transform objects
i have included the file i was working on last time it happened

Can you add a list of 'steps to reproduce'?

Did you work with the node tool, dragging nodes of the path (which has been drawn in 'Spiro' mode) or when you transform the path using the the transform handles of the select tool?

Would you be willing to test if the crashes still occurs with the prerelease version 0.48pre1 <http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/0.48pre1/> or a recent development snapshot <http://inkscape.modevia.com/win32/?C=M;O=D>?

oh yes one other thing it had nothing to do with the nodes tool it
was just something that would happen randomly

i also like the way that if you try to render a bitmap that is too big
ink scape now quietly gives up instead of crashing

This fits the issue of bug #221712 “GDI object leak in Pango hangs Inkscape after some time” (see the more recent duplicates for varying descriptions of how/when the crash happens) and was fixed by using updated (pango) libraries for the development snapshots and the prerelease build 0.48pre1 (win32).
