Paths need an optional direction hint

Bug Description

It would be great if there was a FontForge slight path direction hint. I know of at least two use cases for that:

1. Type design. Direction of a path matters a lot to produce a correct font. FontForge can find this error and correct it, but things should be done the right way from the very beginning, IMO :)

2. Applying arrows. When you edit someone else's file and want to add arrows, figuring out direction of several to-be arrowed paths results in trial and error.

The new node tool can optionally display the path direction on the path outline (to be set in the node tool preferences tab), see 'Node tool - Path direction tools' in the release notes for 0.48 <http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.48#Node_Tool>.

Do you think this would need to be available outside of the node tool as well - like an additional view mode, or an option for the 'Outline' view mode?

Closing as 'Fix released' for Milestone 0.48. Please reopen if the implementation in the node tool to optionally show the direction of the path outline isn't fulfilling your request.
