Bug Description

Binary package hint: inkscape

Package: inkscape
Version: 0.47.0-2ubuntu2
Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04

How to reproduce:
 - Open inkscape
 - Draw anything
 - Save as "Compressed Inkscape SVG (*.svgz)"
 - Close inkscape
 - Try open the saved file in inkscape using File/Open menu entry
 - Error message: "Failed to load the requested file /home/user/drawing.svgz"

However, the file can be open from the command line using a relative path:
(in /home/user/)
inkscape drawing.svgz

but won't work with absolute path:
inkscape /home/user/drawing.svgz
Entity: line 1: parser error : Start tag expected, '<' not found

Same issue as described in bug #270990 “Cannot open .svgz over NFS share.”?

Yes it is the same issue as in bug #270990.

I only have this problem in the case of a home folder on a NFS share (verified).

Bug #270990 status is "Fix Released", but no fix was released at all, at least not for Ubuntu.
