Bug Description
Windows XP, Inkscape 0.47 r22583, built Nov 21 2009
I created some basic text "KCDCC" and changed the font to Impact (Italic), font size 100. I set the Fill as 002664ff, Stroke as 000000ff. I exported the image as SVG, and found that the stroke was correctly tilted in italic, but that the fill was not.
I have posted the images, both .svg and .pdf, on this page:

The one option I did not try with my first attempt is when exporting to PDF I did not select "convert text to path". I tried that on the second result, and it worked much better. So I'll know to do that next time, but I'm not sure that workaround should be left alone.
I'm not a programmer, so I'll leave this with the pros. Thanks for a great program!

possibly the same underlying issue as bug #200899 “Font style ignored in eps/pdf output”:
The font style 'italic' in your example seems ignored for the fill but correctly applied to the stroke.
