Inkscape (Quartz) crashes on opening files

I compiled inkscape following the instructions on the
inkscape wiki http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/CompilingMacOsX.
The section where it says "Building Aqua from scratch, 2010".

Whenever I open a second file, inkscape crashes before the dialogue appears. Please note that this only occures in the Quartz version, not in the X11 version.

GTK: 2.20.1_0 (macports)

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open an image file (I used png/svg, but I guess its happening regardless of the file format)
2. Open another file.

I have reported this in MacPorts (including a portfile diff and the adapted patch) but so for the maintainer hasn't updated the available gtk2 @2.20.1 version.
