Snapping doesn't work as expected

Bug Description

I do various geometric designs on graph paper, and I wanted to duplicate what I do on the computer, so I chose to use a program called Inkscape

My current version is 0.47 on Ubuntu 10.04, freshly installed

The picture is pretty self explanatory, what I am trying to do here is make sure my lines are in snapped to the corners of the squares, or to the sides of them at least but this isn't happening

I can not make any constructive use of Inkscape with this bug here

I can't reproduce it using your preferences file and adding lines to your document 'happening.svg' with Inkscape 0.47 (r22583, built Nov 24 2009) on OS X 10.5.8: all nodes snap to grid intersections when using the pen tool in 'bezier mode'.

Puzzling - I don't understand why snapping sometimes fails for you.

Hi stevecam,

The snap settings look OK to me, but I noticed that you've got two rectangular grids. Could you try deleting the first one and see if that makes a difference?

Does the problem still exist with a recent Inkscape development version?

Thank you for the feedback.

Closing the report as 'Invalid' since it has never been reproduced on other systems, and it's unclear if actual changes in Inkscape's source code prevent the originally reported problem from re-occurring in Inkscape >= 0.48.

Feel free to reopen the report if the same problem reappears in current stable (0.48.x) or trunk.
