Inkscape Crashes when using the node tool

Hello im using Linux Ubuntu Karmic Koala with Inkscape version 0.47 and Inkscape crashes anytime i try to edit a picture with the node tool.

The problem however seems to be with editing pictures and not shapes or drawings. it works fine when i am editing the nodes of shapes or drawings.

1.i put a bitmap into Inkscape.
2.i selected the picture and then went to Path>Object to Path at the menu bar.
3. i clicked on the Edit Paths by Nodes tool and then edited the nodes for a while.
4. it freezes and then crashes.

When i opened Inkscape with the Terminal and tried the same method again, I saw this error:

Can't reproduce.
Are you sure it's not the same bug as in #463602?

Could you attach a sample SVG file? Inkscape cannot node-edit bitmap images: you are node-editing either a clip-path (if the image has been clipped or masked) or a pattern-filled rectangle (if the linked or embedded image had been converted to a pattern).

no it is not bug #271723 <https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/271723> . I am
sorry i missed out a step i used shortcut Alt+I object(s)- This converts the
selection to a rectangle with tiled pattern fill. then i clicked on objects
to path.Then i proceeded to use the node editor to move one node and then
it freezes ill attach a snapshot of what im talking about.

Confirmed in Ubuntu 10.04, using Inkscape 0.47.0-2ubuntu2.

To reproduce:

* File->Import..., select any photo
* Object->Pattern->Object to pattern
* Path->Object to path
* Select "Edit paths by nodes" tool
* Move handle at top-left
