Opening .svgz files with large groups is slow

C++ runtime error trying to open .svgz files from maposmatic.org

Also tried with others and same failure... A very small generated map appeared to work, but didn't consider 10mb to be a large file.

Tried running inkscape as admin and in compatibility mode with Winxp.

Crash not reproduced on Ubuntu 9.10.
But this file took about 2 minutes to open, ate 1.5Gio of RAM, and was almost impossible to handle.
The crash you had may be due to this performance issue.

10.2Mio is the compressed size. The "real" unzipped SVG size is 47Mio.

Reproduced on Windows XP (VirtualBoxed), bzr rev. 9222.

Hence lowering importance to medium.

There is a performance issue though (Maybe in handling groups (main group in this file has 3674 items)).

Not a huge lag on opening with my powerful computer, but still thinking for a bit.

So there is no crash and perf hit might be expected..
