Layers list is too short

Inkscape 0.47 on Vista x64

Layers manager list displays only two layers maximum. See the screenshot attached. Is there any way to enlarge the layers list?

Yes, pulling down from the bottom of the layers dock.

The problem was resolved after some manipulations with side panel. I have opened and then removed Fill and Stroke panel.

This can actually happen with themes!

My theme du jour did not display a line to change the layer stack size (it still gets a drag icon on mouseover, and works just fine - but impossible to spot..) See attachment.

I tested 20+ themes and found only two that exhibit this behavior.

Could i confirm the Layers menu is by default too short anyway. i always have to enlarge it to see what i want even when it's the only toolbox. Perhaps it could start up and adapt to the list length or use a bit more height etc. d

Enlarging the minimum width is imho not an option. There are also people who want to make interface as small or clean as possible.
One could add an option, but are not we overcustomizing in this case?

AFAIU this bug is and always has been about the height of the dialog (aka length of the list), not about the width of the dialog.
