Bug Description

Hi there,

I use inkscape frequently in my line of work, i think its absolutely fantastic tool and a credit to the open source world.

My only gripe is the tablet support and by this i don't mean compatibly i mean usability. It would be great if inkscape could adopt some of the tablet usability features similar to those in Autodesk Sketchbook pro (if you have used it you will know what i mean), things like stroke width resize tool, gestures and pan/zoom are a pleasure in SBP and make this part of the design process so much easier. it can also be beneficial for standard mouse use.

On a side note: my tablet recently broke and i am looking to replace it with a Wacom bamboo touch medium, i notice some user reports that zoom and Vertical scrolling do work out of the box, is there any planned support for the full range of touch gestures on these devices?

Thanks, Ash

touch support has been added for the Bamboo tablets (in late 2010). However, we've found the devices to be very low-resolution with touch data. The highest resolution touch pad we've seen so far is the Apple Magic Touchpad... but obviously this doesn't mean much if you need a stylus...
