Bug Description
System: Inkscape 0.47 r22583, built Nov 21 2009 on WindowsXP sp3 32 bit Russian
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open inkscape
2. Draw a rectangle or closed path, change its fill color by clicking on a palette
3. Try to change its fill (or stroke) color: click on the color bar that is below palette and to the right from "Fill:" label, do not release mouse button, drag it somewhere, release mouse. Repeat several times (maybe 10-20, but most of time 3-5 is enough).
Result: Inkscape can:
1. hang using 100% of processor
2. silently exit
3. display internal error and make emergency save
4. display something like @GLib-ERROR **: gmem.c:175: failed to allocate 16 bytes aborting..."
5. display "memory cannot be read"
attached 6 backtraces.
Even though the backtraces are different, the same crash when using color gestures on win32 (including the gmem.c error) is reported in bug #443964 “0.47pre3 win32 crash when adjusting color via gestures”: /bugs.launchpad .net/inkscape/ +bug/443964>
