Blur filter does not work on horizontal/vertical freehand lines

Inkscape 0.47pre4, build Oct 12 2009, WinXP 32, SP3

Blurring a horizontal or vertical freehand line (consisting of only two points) does not work. The bounding box will be increased, but not blurring is rendered. When grabbing one end point and moving it (so the line is not horizontal or vertical anymore), the line will be blurred.
