Mac OS X: Aliases are not resolved

Bug Description
When I call the "open file" or the "save" or "save as…" dialog, I do not see aliases created by the finder. When I switch from "inkscape files" to "all files" in the "open" dialog, I do see the aliases, they are displayed, but do not lead to the linked folder, instead inkscape tries to open them as a file.
This bug occurs in inkscape X11 as well as in my home-brew inkscape aqua.

confirmed with Inkscape 0.46+devel r22349 on OS X 10.5.8:
doesn't follow finder aliases to directories, whereas symbolic links created with 'ln -s' are being followed.
I have the same issues with GIMP 2.6.7 (GTK+) and Batik 1.7 / Squiggle.app (Java), but not with Amaya (Thot API).
