inkscape does not work in Apple's Snow Leopard

Bug Description

After installing Snow Leopard, I tried to start the Gimp, which did not start at all. Then I tried to start Inkscape, the same: the icon dances a second on the bottom bar, but Inkscape fails to start.
Both programs worked fine before on my older Leopard, now they sit idle. The only program that also uses X11 and does start is Neo Office.
So I relocated to my other desktop, a Linux machine under Fedora 10, both programs still work perfect there.
This must be a Snow Leopard problem, more people have problems that programs don't work anymore.

- the latest Gimp on OSX 2.6.7 from <http://sf.net/projects/gimponosx/> is reported to run without issues on Snow Leopard
- Inkscape 0.46-2 doesn't run on SL due to incompatible library versions. You can test a current prerelease build from <http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscape/files/inkscape/0.47pre2/> which is confirmed to work on SL.

Pablo thanks very much for your help. I had an Inkscape 0.46 version which
stopped working after installing Snow Leopard, as did Gimp.
I followed your advice and downloaded the inkscape 0.47 pre2 and after
install it seems to work ok. Thanks!
Also I downloaded the latest Gimp 2.6 which now also works. Thanks again!
Also both programs seem to work much faste than before!
So that's two programs working again under SL and X11. Neo Office also under
X11, never gave any problems after installing SL.
The only problem left is my scanner, Epson 4990, which does scan with the
Epson software that came with it, but not with the Silverfast software, but
that has nothing to do with X11, Silverfast seems to be working on this.
Thanks again Pablo!
Greetings,
Jaap
