Eraser width broken

On Ubuntu 9.04, Inkscape rev. 21789.

Steps:
1. Draw a shape.
2. Select the eraser tool and use it on the shape.
3. Change the width parameter value and erase again; the width of the eraser path never changes.

The eraser tool is one of the most awaited 0.47 features, and we should fix it before launch.

On Windows XP, Inkscape build 0.47pre0-1 (Jul 2 2009) from a 7z file.

For me this appears to be working okay. Attached is an svg file with 3 erasures in it, at eraser widths 10, 30, 50 from top to bottom

works for me with Inkscape 0.47pre1 on OS X 10.5.7 (though I find the tooltip / unit of the tool width unclear and the slider hard to fine-tune i.e. adjust to a certain value ;-)

Tested again on Windows XP, Inkscape rev. 21627, and it worked as expected.
But I can reproduce it with rev. 21790 (Windows XP and Ubuntu).

Confirmed. rev 21793 on Ubuntu - Width slider having no effect on eraser.

could this be a side-effect of the fix for bug #390162 committed in rev. 21748? The (internal) context of the eraser tool seems to have the same structure as the calligraphic tool (<http://inkscape.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/inkscape/inkscape/trunk/src/eraser-context.cpp?revision=20893&view=markup> line 189).
