Bug Description

Hi,
i have a weird resolution problem in the eps-Export of Inkscape 0.46+devel r21672 which doesn't exist in 0.46. I have 6 pngs in my drawing. After exporting to eps one is sharp and the other 5 are blurred. If i remove the sharp one, another one gets sharp.
With inkscape 0.46 the export works fine.
pdf-Export also works. In png-Export all the images are missing.
The 0.47 eps-files are also a lot smaller than the 0.46 ones:
616 k 0.47.eps
167 M 0.46.eps
Thanks

cannot reproduce this on Windows XP, Inkscape build 21627. Could you attach the original .png files, or maybe just two of them? Also, which OS?

Hi,

i use linux gcc version 4.3.3 (Gentoo 4.3.3-r2 p1.1, pie-10.1.5.)

The problem seems to related to clipping. If i release the clipping of a blurred image, it's png export becomes sharp again. The one sharp image is sharp although clipped.

ok,
i can reproduce it now from the start:

Import A
scale A to 10 %
import B
scale B to 10 %
Move the molecule of A into the white space around the molecule of B
clip away the white space around B
clip away the white space around A

expected result: both A and B should be sharp

actual result: A is blurred and B is partly blurred.

File A and B were generated with pymol.

I have a similar problem. My picture included two bitmaps. When I save as eps, regardless of the options checked, the result is as in the attached file. In the original picture, both bitmaps are sharp.
I run Inkscape 0.47 r22583, built Nov 21 2009 on WinXP SP3.
The only workaround I found is export into a bitmap, then open the saved bitmap and save it as eps.

If PDF export looks correct but parts of PS/EPS export are blurry then this may be a bug in cairo where when generating PS/EPS output, translucent parts of the page are rasterized at 72 pixels per inch because PS does not support transparency. This has recently been fixed in cairo to use the requested fallback resolution instead of defaulting to 72ppi.

I confirm the export problem with clipped images, even if this is not occuring everytime (may depends on the properties of the clipping object).

I am using Debian Sid :

Inkscape 0.48.1 r9760 (Jul 4 2011)
libcairo2 1.10.2-6 (Debian package version)
