Bug Description

Recently I have noticed some display performance problems while moving and transforming objects. See attached video.

Inkscape r21332 on 32-bit Ubuntu 9.04 with Nvidia proprietary display driver (180.44), AMD Athlon X2 3800+ and 1Gb DDR-II (800MHz). I hope this in not due to too low performance of my desktop.

Just wondering: does this effect go away when you delete the bitmap?

No. It doesn't.

I have investigated this issue a bit more and discovered that low performance is a result of setting blend mode to multiply for a layer with those objects. The problem occurs also when blending mode is set to: screen, darken, lighten. So the real problem may be low performance of blending methods.

Confirmed on Ubuntu 9.04, Inkscape build 21350 and 0.46.

Changed in inkscape:
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Confirmed

If this is still a problem, you could attach a test case file.
