Bug Description
When exporting PDF through the GUI or from the commandline (`inkscape -T -A foo.pdf bar.svg`) the output PDF contains nothing where the text was when choosing to convert text to paths. Generating PDF without the conversion works fine.
I have Inkscape trunk, cairomm 1.6.4, cairo 1.8.0
Will attach samples.

Actually the embedded font case is not 100%. It seems to be affected by bug #200899
