EMF import: Keeping Paths Together (don't break paths apart)

Bug Description

Running windows XP SP2, 32 bit.
Using Mirrored Win32 Builds (Inkscape20880-0903101833.7z).

I have an example emf file where lines on a graph appear to be one line, but actually are made of multiple separate smaller paths. I believe it should appear as a single continuous path. I have no way of determining whether the original emf data is encoded as multiple paths or a single continuous path.
Is this a bug when importing emf graphics, or is it a problem with how the data is in the emf file?

The sample emf is attached.
The red, dark blue and green lines end up as multiple smaller paths.
When imported the figure is shifted and scaled to outside of the document page on the lower right
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/341847).
The figure was a graph in Excel which I pasted into PowerPoint as an emf figure. I then saved this from PowerPoint into an emf file.

@David Mathog - any chance you could take a closer look at the original EMF file whether or not this is the expected result?

Those curves in the EMF are composed of multiple small straight lines. The conversion from EMF to SVG is correct, as far as I can tell.

I don't see what the OP is referring to with regards to shift and scale. With either "open" or "import" of the EMF in Inkscape (trunk r13915) it looks the same as that EMF does in the XP viewers I have. Also the same as it does when imported into PPT 2010.
