Feature Request: Enhance the Gears Effect

Bug Description

Enrich the options to provide spokes (quantity selectable) and shaft hole such as this site (http://woodgears.ca/gear_cutting/template.html). Animating the gears would be cool, too. Minimally, show the center point (cross hairs) of each gear to allow centering a circle over it for a shaft hole or accurate drilling of a shaft hole. It would also be nice to be able to ungroup the gears. This would permit selecting each gear to get an accurate measurement of diameter.

You can already ungroup an object with a Live Path Effect:
1. Select the object.
2. Use Path>Object to Path.
3. Use Path>Break Apart.

Spokes, shaft hole and center hole are implemented in an updated version which was attached to bug 707290.
