Crash on import bitmap

Inkscape 0.47 (various revisions) crashes trying to import a bitmap picture (tried different pictures and formats).
I get from Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library the message "Runtime Error! Program ...inkscape.exe This application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way. [...]".
With 0.46 it's all working well.
Windows XP SP3, 2GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600.
