this is a non-sequitor, but in Windows it is sometrimes interesting to trap exit messages using the techniques of :
http://kaioa.com/node/42 or http://kaioa.com/node/63 , not as complete as gdb but sometimes useful.

part of the problem may be the time stamp on the files. I have downloaded Inkscape19737-0808191416.7z. In the inkscape directory the latest files are as follows:

08/16/2008 02:49 PM 1,479,706 libcairo-2.dll
08/16/2008 02:49 PM 5,222,666 libpoppler-3.dll
08/16/2008 02:49 PM 14,671,360 inkscape.exe

these files are 2 or 3 days out of date, they may not contain the patch outlined in Bug 258761, which caused a crash in rev 19671.

also, the latest files in the directory \inkscape\share\extensions\ are :

08/16/2008 02:49 PM 3,635 extrude.py
08/16/2008 02:49 PM 791 extrude.inx
08/16/2008 02:49 PM 6,232 dxf_outlines.py
08/16/2008 02:49 PM 1,043 dxf_outlines.inx
08/16/2008 02:49 PM 820 motion.inx

my concern here is that two of these files were submitted by me, as part of my first commit ever, dxf_outlines.py and .inx. (rev 19669 and 19670)

I've never done this before, is it possible I screwed up the commit? I used TortoiseSVN to do a direct commit, not using a diff file, although it appears one was created automatically.
