pattern fill does not appear on PDF

Bug Description
Binary package hint: inkscape
I make a rectangle and use pattern fill. When I save to PDF (via Cairo) I can not see the pattern on the resulting PDF.

It doesn't even show on the Print Preview. inkscape 0.46-0ubuntu2 and libcairo2 1.6.0-0ubuntu2 (Ubuntu 8.04.1) BTW.
