"Cut Path" doesn´t cut precicely when node intersects ellipse

The aim is to cut a path (A) at the position where it is intersected by a node of path (B).

This is how it usually functions with two seperate paths:

In oder to snap the node to a path, the settings are:
"Document Properties"->"snap": "snapping" is checked, "what snaps": nodes is checked, "snap to objects": snap to path is checked.

I draw path A.
I draw path B with its end-node snapping to path A.
The cut path operation does cut path A at exactly the position where the node of path B intersected.

However when drawing an ellipse an converting to path (path A).
Draw path B with its end-node snapping to the ellipse.
The cut path operation does cut the ellipse at the exact position where the node of path B intersected.

I draw path B with its end-node snapping to the ellipse.
The cut path operation does not cut the ellipse at the exact position where the node of path B intersected with the ellipse.

I can't reproduce with a dev build or the official 0.46 on linux. Can you please attach a screenshot where we can see how exactly is the cut place different from the intersection place?

I´ve done this example (see attachment) with Inkscape 0.46, built Apr 1 2008, WinXP.

I've tried it again and now I can reproduce it in both 19587 build and 0.46, but it doesn't happen all the time. Maybe it's a snapping issue where the node isn't positioned precisely on the ellipse.
