Bug Description

Summary: The "Eraser Tool" is powerful. However, much of the finesse and detail achieved via the "Calligraphy Tool" for strokes is lost. To make the interface more comprehensive and seamless, as well as provide added functionality such as "Tremor" and the other options, the eraser should be an augmentation of the calligraphy toolset. This would ultimately be a set of toggles to perform boolean adjustments on strokes. Adding, subtracting, etc. would put an extremely powerful tool into the hands of artists, as well as speeding up workflow. In addition to this, it seems rather cumbersome to add an entirely new tool for a feature that offers very few options.

Platform: Ubuntu 8.04 amd64

The calligraphy is getting many of these changes, but the eraser tool will be gaining a combination of calligraphy behavior and behavior of other tools, such as the Select tool.
