I've had some problems with 3d boxes too, i was about to post a new bug, but i think i will add the info here

I attach a file that crashes Inkscape 0.47pre1, built Jul 3 2009, to reproduce:

1. Select some of the 3d boxes in the file and group them (ctrl-g)

2. Try to move the new group around, inkscape crashes on mouse button release

If you simply move the selected objects without grouping them first, everything works fine
